How do I Create a Group?

Groups let you send one message to many contacts. Create a group for each audience you message, such as customers, staff or event guests.

Create a Group

  1. Open Groups

    • Click Groups in the left sidebar.
  2. Start a New Group

    • Click Create Group. The Create Group page opens.
  3. Name the Group

    • Enter a Group Name of 2 to 64 characters.
    • Optionally add a Description of up to 1,000 characters to note what the group is for.
  4. Create It

    • Click Create Group.

DartPro shows Group Created and opens the new group's page.

💡 Group names are unique

You can't have two groups with the same name. If you enter the name of a group you already have, DartPro opens that group instead of creating a new one.

Add Contacts to the Group

A new group is empty. Fill it in any of these ways:

  • Import: on the group's page, click Import Contacts, then pick the group under Select Groups to Import the Contact Into. See How do I Import Contacts?.
  • Add one person: click Add Contact and pick the group in Groups.
  • Add existing contacts: on the Contacts page, select contacts and click Add to Group.
  • Let people join by text: set up an opt-in code. See How do I Let Contacts Opt In by SMS?.

For more options, see How do I Manage Group Members?.

⚠️ Renaming affects scheduled messages

Scheduled group messages find their groups by name when they're sent. If you rename a group, messages already scheduled for it won't reach its members.
