How do Test and Live Modes Work?
DartPro has two modes. Test mode lets you try DartPro without reaching real phones. Live mode sends real messages.
Switch Modes
The switch at the top of DartPro shows your current mode, Test or Live. Click it to change modes. The change applies to your whole account straight away.
What Changes in Test Mode
| Test mode | Live mode | |
|---|---|---|
| Messages | Not broadcast to phones | Delivered to recipients |
| Delivery reports | Simulated | Real reports from the networks |
| Compose screens | Show a notice that your account is in Test mode | No notice |
| Campaign reports | Test campaigns show You were not billed | Real statuses and charges |
⚠️ Switch back before a real send
Messages sent in Test mode never reach anyone. Check that the switch shows Live before you send to real recipients.
Test and Live API Keys
If you send through the API, you have two keys under Settings > API:
| Key | Use it for |
|---|---|
| Live (Production) | Real messages from your application |
| Sandbox (Test) | Testing your integration without sending real messages |
- Webhooks: each key has its own Delivery Report URL. Click Add Webhook (or Change Webhook), enter the URL, and click Save Webhook.
- Balance checks: only requests made with the live key check that your balance covers the message.
- Account mode still applies: messages sent through the API are marked as test messages while your account is in Test mode.
To learn how to use the keys in your requests, see Authentication.
