How do I Register a Sender ID?

Your sender ID, also called an identity, is the name or number recipients see as the sender. DartPro only offers approved sender IDs when you compose a message.

Register a Sender ID

  1. Open Identities

    • Click Identities in the left sidebar. The Compliance & Identities settings open.
  2. Choose a Provider

    • Pick one in Select Provider. Registered Identities lists your sender IDs and their status with that provider.
  3. Start Registration

    • Click Register New Identity. The New Sender Identity form opens.
  4. Enter the Details

    • Identity Name (Sender ID): up to 11 characters, usually your business or brand name.
    • Compliance Sample Message: a typical message you'll send with this sender ID.
  5. Submit

    • Click Confirm & Submit. DartPro confirms the identity was submitted for review, and you'll be notified once it's approved.

Naming Rules (NCC)

  • Length: 6 to 11 letters and numbers (A–Z, a–z, 0–9).
  • Business name: use your real business or brand name.
  • Recognition: customers should recognize it instantly.
  • Case: use mixed case for readability, for example ShopEase, not SHOPEASE.
  • Characters: no special characters. Spaces count toward the 11-character limit.
  • Generic names: avoid names such as INFO, SMS or PROMO, which are often rejected.
  • Impersonation: don't impersonate competitors, government agencies, banks or other organizations.

Sender ID Statuses

Registered Identities shows two statuses: the Global Status and the Provider Status for the provider you selected.

StatusMeaning
pendingSubmitted and waiting for review
forwarded, awaiting review or reviewedBeing processed
approvedReady to use
declined or rejectedNot accepted. Register a different name
suspendedCan't be used at the moment
not submitted (Provider Status only)Not yet sent to that provider

If you submit a name again, DartPro tells you whether it's already approved, was rejected before, or has already been submitted.

Choosing a Sender ID When Composing

  • The Sender ID list on every compose screen shows your approved sender IDs.
  • The Cecula sender ID. If none are approved yet and your profile setup is complete, you can send as Cecula. These messages are reviewed before delivery, and you'll see Message Submitted.
  • Manual routing. If you pick a provider under Advanced Options, or use manual routing in your SMS settings, the list only shows sender IDs approved by that provider. You may see Please register Identities to send messages via… or Your Sender IDs are pending review for….

Hosted Numbers as Sender IDs

If you host a SIM on Cecula Sync, you can register its number as a sender ID:

  1. Enter the number in Identity Name (Sender ID). A Gateway API Key field appears.
  2. Paste your Cecula Sync API key.
  3. Click Confirm & Submit. DartPro checks the number and key with Cecula Sync before submitting.
MessageWhat to do
Invalid Hosted Number or API KeyCheck that the number matches your hosted SIM and the key is correct
The hosted sim already has webhooks set…Sign in to Cecula Sync, delete the Inbound SMS and Delivery Report webhooks, then try again

Compliance Documents

Some routes, such as transactional routes, need signed documents before you can use them. On the Compliance & Identities page, under Documentation for Transactional Route:

  1. Click Download Template for each Required Document.
  2. Sign the document.
  3. Click Upload Signed and choose the file (PDF, JPG or PNG, up to 5 MB).

Each document's status appears beside it. Approved documents show Documentation Verified. Rejected ones show the reason, so you can upload a corrected copy. If the provider needs nothing, you'll see No documentation required.

Sender IDs Through the API

To list your approved sender IDs from your own software, see the Identities API reference.
