Messaging
DartPro gives you four ways to compose an SMS, all built on your contacts, templates and registered sender IDs. This section covers each one, from a quick message to scheduled, personalized broadcasts.
Choose How to Send
| Compose option | Best for | Recipients | Personalized with |
|---|---|---|---|
| To Individuals | A few numbers or selected contacts | Up to 2,000 numbers | Nothing, text is sent as typed |
| To Groups | Broadcasting to saved contact groups | Everyone in the groups | Contact details, using a template |
| To File Contacts | A spreadsheet of numbers you haven't saved | Every number in the file | File columns, using a template |
| From Template | A saved template sent to one number | One number | Values you type in |
To start, click Compose SMS and choose the option you need. You can also start from other screens:
- Contacts or a group's page: select contacts and click Message to open To Individuals.
- Groups: select groups and click Message Groups to open To Groups.
- Drafts: click Continue Composing on a saved draft.
- Campaigns: open a sent campaign and click Forward to send it again.
Before You Send
Make sure that:
- Your email is verified.
- Your profile setup is complete, including your billing information. Compose screens show a reminder if it isn't.
- You have an approved sender ID. See How do I Register a Sender ID?.
- Your balance covers the cost. See Recharging Your Account.
The send button stays disabled while your email is unverified, your profile is incomplete, your balance is too low, or a route you picked is missing compliance documents.
⚠️ Test mode
If the mode switch at the top of DartPro shows Test, compose screens warn that messages won't be broadcast. Switch it to Live before sending real messages. See How do Test and Live Modes Work?.
What's on a Compose Screen
| Part | What it does |
|---|---|
| Sender ID | The name or number recipients see as the sender |
| Message Content | Your text, with a counter for characters and segments |
| Send Immediately / Schedule for Later | Send now, or choose a Broadcast Time |
| Advanced Options | Choose a provider and traffic type yourself instead of automatic routing |
| Cost card | Shows the ESTIMATED COST, or the EXACT COST after you click Calculate Exact Cost |
| Send Message / Schedule Message | Sends or schedules your message |
Advanced Options
DartPro normally routes messages using your SMS routing settings. Under Advanced Options, you can choose a provider in Select Provider (the default is Auto-detect (Recommended)) and a Traffic Type. The message then uses Manual Mode:
- The Sender ID list only shows sender IDs that provider has approved.
- If the route needs compliance documents that are missing or rejected, you'll see Compliance required and can't send until they're approved. See Compliance Documents.
Delivery Rules
- Do-Not-Disturb hours. Promotional messages sent between 8:00 PM and 8:00 AM are scheduled for 8:00 AM, in line with NCC regulation. Compose screens warn you when this applies.
- Messages from Cecula are reviewed. If you send with the default Cecula sender ID, the message is reviewed before delivery and you'll see Message Submitted.
- Repeated numbers get one message. The exception is personalized file messages, which send one message per row.
- Unreachable numbers aren't charged. Numbers DartPro can't route are skipped without a charge.
After You Send
- Campaigns in the left sidebar lists your broadcasts. Open one to see its report, including recipients, cost, pages, delivery and networks. From there, click Forward to reuse the message, or download a Report as PDF or Excel.
- Message Logs in the left sidebar shows the messages you've sent, recipient by recipient.
