How Branding Reaches the Stream

Video reaches your viewers in one of two ways, and branding works differently for each. The Overview shows which way the clip on air is playing.

PlaybackBranding viewers see
Live feeds, and clips marked LIVE ENCODE on the OverviewThe logo watermark, text watermark and news scroll, drawn onto the picture as it plays
Clips marked PRE-ENCODEDThe logo watermark that was built into the clip when it was processed. The text watermark and news scroll aren't shown

Because the logo is built into pre-encoded clips, changing it doesn't update clips already processed. Re-encode them to show the new logo. See Watermarks on Processed Clips.

When Changes Appear

  • Settings: watermark and logo sting changes take effect as soon as the current video finishes playing.
  • News scroll: a new message starts once the current pass of the old one has finished scrolling.

Who Can Change Branding

  • Watermark and logo sting: owners and administrators, in Settings.
  • News scroll: owners, administrators and editors.
  • Profile: owners and administrators.

See Roles.
