How do I Set Up the News Scroll?

The news scroll, or ticker, is a line of text that scrolls from right to left along the bottom of the picture. Use it for announcements, headlines or contact details.

Open News Scroll

In the channel menu, click News Scroll. The Live Preview at the top shows the ticker as you edit it.

Write and Turn On the Ticker

  1. Under Ticker Content, type your text in Ticker Message. A single line works best, and the text loops continuously.
  2. Switch on Enable News Ticker.
  3. Click SAVE CHANGES. Cecula Stream confirms News ticker settings saved!

To take the ticker off, switch off Enable News Ticker and save.

Choose Its Style

Under Branding & Style:

SettingOptions
Ticker DesignClassic (Solid), Modern (Semi-Transparent) or Minimal (Outline). Changes how the Live Preview shows the ticker
Scroll Speed50 to 500 pixels per second. It starts at 100
Background ColorPick a colour, or type a hex code such as #000000
Text ColorPick a colour, or type a hex code such as #ffffff

On your stream, the ticker is a bar along the bottom of the picture in your background colour, slightly see-through, with the text in your text colour.

The Summary panel shows the design, speed and whether the ticker is ENABLED or DISABLED. Click SAVE CHANGES to apply your choices.

When Changes Appear

  • A new message, or switching the ticker on or off: takes effect once the current pass of the old text has finished scrolling.
  • Speed and colours: take effect within moments of saving.

Where the Ticker Appears

The ticker is drawn onto the picture as it plays. It appears on live feeds and on clips marked LIVE ENCODE on the Overview, but not on clips marked PRE-ENCODED. See How Branding Reaches the Stream.

Owners, administrators and editors can change the news scroll.
