How do I Use a Logo Sting?

A logo sting is a short video, such as your animated logo, that plays between programming. Broadcasters also call it a station ident or bumper.

Before You Start

Upload the sting video to your Media Library, and wait until it's Ready. Keep it short: a few seconds is typical. See How do I Upload Media?.

Set the Channel's Logo Sting

  1. In the channel menu, click Settings.
  2. Under Channel Logo Sting, choose the video in Select Logo Sting Video. It saves straight away.
  3. In Rotation Bumper Interval, enter how many playlist videos play between stings, such as 3. Press Enter or click the tick to save. Enter 0 to stop repeating stings.

When the Sting Plays

WhenWhat happens
The channel switches into a playlistThe sting plays first. For example, when a scheduled broadcast, episode or live feed ends, or when a time belt starts
Every so many playlist videosThe sting plays after the number of videos set in the interval
Before a scheduled broadcastThe sting plays first, if Play Logo Sting is on for that broadcast

With an interval of 0, the sting still plays each time the channel switches into a playlist. To stop stings altogether, clear Select Logo Sting Video.

A Different Sting for a Playlist

A playlist can have its own sting and interval, instead of the channel's:

  1. In the channel menu, click Playlist.
  2. Open the menu next to the playlist and click Edit details.
  3. Under Playlist Logo Sting (Stinger Override), choose the video in Select Logo Sting Video.
  4. Enter the Sting Interval (videos played before sting).
  5. Click Save Changes.

Leave Select Logo Sting Video blank to use the channel's sting and interval.

Play the Sting Before a Scheduled Broadcast

  1. In the channel menu, click Schedule.
  2. Add or edit a broadcast.
  3. Turn on Play Logo Sting. It only appears when your channel has a logo sting set.

The channel's sting plays, then the video. The broadcast's time slot includes the sting's length. See How do I Schedule a Broadcast?.
