How do I Add a Watermark?

A watermark shows your logo, some text, or both in a corner of the picture, sometimes called a channel bug. Owners and administrators set it in Settings.

  1. In the channel menu, click Settings.
  2. Under Watermark Assets, find Watermark Logo (Optional).
  3. Click Select Custom Watermark and choose an image of up to 2 MB. A PNG with a transparent background works best.

The logo uploads straight away, and Cecula Stream confirms Watermark image updated. A copy is also added to your Media Library.

  • To replace the logo: choose another image.
  • To remove it: click the delete button beside the logo and confirm Are you sure you want to delete the custom watermark?

Add Text

Under Watermark Assets, type your text in Text Watermark, such as LIVE or © IBOM TV, up to 100 characters. Press Enter or click the tick to save.

The text appears in white beside your logo, or on its own if you have no logo. To remove it, clear the field and save.

The text watermark is drawn as the stream plays, so it appears on live feeds and LIVE ENCODE clips only. See How Branding Reaches the Stream.

Position, Size and Opacity

Under Watermark Positioning, a Watermark Live Preview (16:9 Screen) shows how the watermark will look while you adjust it:

SettingRangeStarts at
Select PositionTop Left, Top Right, Bottom Left or Bottom RightTop Right
Horizontal Spacing (X Offset)0 to 300 px from the side20 px
Vertical Spacing (Y Offset)0 to 300 px from the top or bottom20 px
Watermark Size (Height)30 to 250 px100 px
Watermark Opacity0 to 100%100%

Each change saves as soon as you let go of the slider. Sizes and spacing are measured on a 1920 × 1080 picture, and scale down with lower resolutions.

Watermarks on Processed Clips

Your logo is built into each video when it's processed, using the logo, position, size, spacing and opacity set at the time. Those clips play PRE-ENCODED, with the logo they were processed with.

  • After you change the logo: the Media Library marks affected clips Needs Re-encoding. The re-encode button says Watermark is out of date - re-encode with the current logo.
  • Clips processed before you added a logo: these offer Burn the channel watermark into this clip.
  • After you change the position, size, spacing or opacity: clips aren't marked. Re-encode the clips you want updated.
  • After you remove the logo: processed clips keep the old logo until you re-encode them.

See Re-encode a Clip.

When Changes Appear

On live feeds and LIVE ENCODE clips, watermark changes take effect as soon as the current video finishes playing. Cecula Stream confirms Channel settings saved! Changes will take effect as soon as the current video finishes playing.
