Sharing
Once your channel is on air, viewers can reach it in three ways.
| Way | What viewers get | Set up on | Guide |
|---|---|---|---|
| Watch page | A Cecula Stream page with your player, channel details and what's on | Ready as soon as the channel exists. Privacy is in Settings | How do I Share My Watch Page? |
| Embedded player or HLS link | Your channel playing on your own website, app or player | Resources | How do I Embed the Player? |
| Simulcast | Your channel on YouTube, Facebook and other platforms at the same time | Simulcast | How do I Simulcast to Other Platforms? |
To show what's on your channel in your own website or app, or to react when a show starts, see Integrations.
Your Channel's Links
| Link | Looks like | Use it for |
|---|---|---|
| Watch link | https://stream.cecula.com/watch/your-slug | Sending viewers to your watch page |
| HLS playback link | An address ending in /your-slug/master.m3u8 | Players, apps and embeds |
Where to find them:
- Watch link: Public Watch Link on the Overview, or Share Link in Settings.
- HLS playback link: Public HLS Entry Point on Resources.
Both links are built from your channel's slug, which never changes. They keep working if you regenerate your stream key.
Active Viewers
The Overview shows Active Viewers: the number of devices pulling your stream right now, from the watch page, embedded players or any other HLS player. It refreshes every 10 seconds.
A viewer is counted while their player has requested your stream in the last 15 seconds. Viewers are told apart by network address and browser, so people watching on the same internet connection with the same browser and device type can count as one.
Your plan sets how many concurrent viewers the channel is for. If your audience regularly approaches that number, move to a higher plan. See Change Your Plan.
Who Can Share
Everyone on the channel can copy and share its links and open Resources. Owners and administrators manage Simulcast. See Roles.
