How do I Edit My Channel Profile?

The profile holds what viewers see about your channel: its description, icon and poster. Owners and administrators can edit it.

Open the Profile

In the channel menu, click Profile. Channel Profile opens.

Name and Public Slug

General Information shows the Channel Name and Public Slug. Both are set when the channel is created and can't be changed. The slug is part of your watch link and HLS link. See Your Public Slug.

Add a Description

Under Channel Identity, write a short description in About the channel, up to 1,000 characters.

The description appears on your watch page. While a program's episode is on air, its synopsis is shown there instead.

Add a Channel Icon

Under Channel Icon, do one of these:

  • Click Upload and choose an image, up to 2 MB. A square image of 512 × 512 pixels, in PNG or JPG, works best.
  • Click Library and choose an image from your Media Library.

The icon appears next to your channel's name on the watch page.

Add a Channel Poster

Under Channel Poster (Banner), do one of these:

  • Click Upload and choose an image, up to 5 MB. A landscape image of 1920 × 1080 pixels works best.
  • Click Library and choose an image from your Media Library.

The poster appears:

  • on your channel's card on My Channels
  • on the watch page, in place of the icon if you haven't added one
  • on air, while broadcasting is switched off or the channel has nothing else to play

💡 Use exactly 1920 × 1080 pixels

The poster is only shown on air if it's exactly 1920 × 1080 pixels. Any other size, and viewers see colour bars instead. See Turn Broadcasting Off.

The channel poster isn't the same as the show banner for live broadcasts, or a program's banner. See How do I Set a Poster and Banners?.

Save Your Changes

Click Save Changes. Cecula Stream confirms Profile updated successfully.

An icon or poster you upload is also added to your Media Library, named after the channel, and counts towards your storage.

Who Can Edit the Profile

Owners and administrators. Editors and viewers don't see Profile in the channel menu. See Roles.
